Nicole Stewart from Houston, Texas, had a knack for color, consistency and attention to detail starting at an early age. Coloring within the lines at the age of 2, she has always strived to meet her high standards of artistic ability, visual and spatial skills, and finding creative solutions.
When Nicole was 6 years old, her family was transferred to Colorado. At the age of 9, she was tested and diagnosed as a twice-exceptional student. This meant she was both gifted & talented, and yet, had a learning disability. Due to the dyslexia, it meant she had to work harder in order to comprehend reading…and so, she did. However, because of her GT strengths, she had the innate ability to be highly creative, imaginative, and advanced in her ideas and problem-solving ability.
Having a strong work ethic and personal desire to succeed, Nicole graduated from high school with academic honors. After graduating, she envisioned her next journey based on her unique aspirations. Nicole applied to and completed the extensive process for The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising located in Los Angeles, California. She was 1 of 1,500 students selected to attend this small, private for-profit college. Not being afraid to take risks, she left her small town in Colorado to attend FDIM where she studied visual communications. After just one year, she was faced with a difficult decision to continue with school or help her family that was in desperate need of assistance. Putting her ambitions on hold, she chose her family and went back to her small town in Colorado.
Fast forward, Nicole married her high school sweetheart and started a family. They have three children. She and her family have moved multiple times over the past 10 years and have had a tremendous amount of life experiences. She is quite comfortable with adapting to change, and quite frankly, looks forward to it. With her youngest child now in grade school, she’s ready to immerse herself and rekindle her passion of solving problems through design.
"I have had the pleasure of watching Nicole become an incredibly talented and well rounded UI/UX designer over the duration of the Springboard course.
Nicole's attention to detail, ability to pick up new concepts quickly, digest complex problems and create elegant and simple solutions for those problems, are just a few things that make her an asset to any design team.
Everything from her research, to sketches, hifi mockups, and prototypes are done to incredibly high and tight standards set by Nicole herself. During our time throughout the course, Nicole NEVER submitted a single piece of work, no matter how small, that wasn't completed with maximum effort and attention. I have yet to see Nicole cut a corner when it comes to her work.
I would recommend Nicole to any design team looking to add a superstar-in-the-making designer to their team. If I had any open positions at the time of writing this, I'd hire Nicole in a heartbeat."

"I had the honor to share an apartment with Nicole during our time at FIDM together. We were both Visual Communication majors. I saw her incredible work ethic, natural drawing + drafting skills + passion for everything we did there.
I looked to her for inspiration and new ideas(& discipline) and still think of her as one of the most skilled illustrators i've ever worked with. Not only that, but she's got a great personality and is super easy to talk to. :)
Nicole is extremely capable and hard working & I always look forward to seeing her continuing on her design journey. She's an asset anywhere she goes and I highly recommend her for any teams consideration."

"I was lucky enough to be placed on a design team with Nicole for our final UI/UX capstone project at Springboard. I appreciated the urgency and tenacity with which she approached the project. She was very dedicated, insightful, and meticulous in the work that she did. I loved the concepts and designs that she produced, and especially appreciated the effort that she made to communicate clearly and effectively with me, and the stakeholder we were working with."
